speech therapy session for pre-teen dyslexic child, dysorthographic

dyslexia, dysorthography and dysgraphia

“I have been using the pretty magnets from Ma Cabane à Rêves with my patients for several months now.

It is an original support, which offers numerous possibilities for adaptation.

Depending on the age and difficulties of the patient, I use it to rehabilitate:

- Oral language

- Written language

- The logic

..."

Some examples of activities HERE:

01 _ The child builds a small scene on his own with around ten magnets. Then he takes a photo of it. He destroys it and mixes the magnets. He then explains it to his playing partner, who does it as the instructions go. We then compare the photo and the production, in order to check that the instructions were clear and were well understood. Then we can reverse the roles!

-> oral language work: sentence construction, vocabulary, spatial markers, oral comprehension, etc.

02 _ The child builds a character with the La Fabrikapoupées magnet collection. He finds a first name for her, and writes it with the magnetic letters La Fabrikamots. (An adult can help if necessary).

-> work on entry into transcription: phonological awareness, use of the grapho-phonemic code (sound = letter(s))

03 _ The adult creates a scene without showing it to the child and then writes down their description. The child must read the instructions in order to construct the same scene.

-> reading work (deciphering, understanding, etc.). The adult adapts the difficulty and length of the text to the child's level. If possible, the roles can be reversed for writing work (spelling, syntax, synthesis, etc.)
