Can you introduce your family to us in a few words?

My name is Aurélie, and Vincent and I met 13 years ago. We arrived in London almost 10 years ago, and Lucien, 9, Marcel, 6 and a half, and Alfred, 2, joined the family. We thought we'd only stay for two or three years (I was expecting Lucien when we moved here for work, and we told ourselves we'd go back "at the latest so he could start preschool in France"). We're still here, and I really can't imagine going back anytime soon. The children speak French with the same accent as Jane Birkin, but they still dare to make fun of our English accent! I love our life in London and the kindness that surrounds the nursery and primary school years for children here.

Lucien is a big dreamer, with a scientific bent. He devours everything he can get his hands on, loves facts, and enjoys ruling his little world (especially his brothers). Marcel loves creating, dancing, and anything that glitters. He's also the one with a fiery temper…sensitive souls, beware 😊 Alfred is a mini clown, raised since birth amidst our surrounding chaos, and accustomed to the constant attention of the four pairs of eyes in the family.

What are your favorite daily activities or little family rituals?

The evening routine, or how to get through the end-of-day blues – the children still enjoy (and certainly won't for much longer) taking a bath together. They usually choose music, taking turns, with very different tastes – we're currently alternating between Soda Pop, Highway to Hell, and Baby Shark. If they can't agree, I choose; usually, the prospect of listening to ABBA helps them decide 😉

I love coffee (flat white, please), and the kids have now gotten into the habit of having a baby coffee and a croissant/pain au chocolat on the weekend, no matter where we are. It's really become our weekend tradition. We've only recently started sitting down and enjoying a meal together instead of getting takeout. It's hit or miss; it's rare to get three kids willing to sit still for 10 minutes at the same time, but I like the idea that they'll remember these little moments when they're older.

If your family were a season, which one would it be and why?

A summer in the Basque Country! Four seasons (x 3 children) in the same day. We go from sunshine to thunderstorms in no time!

What made you want to join the ambassador family?

First, you, Amandine! Our discussions and your passion for what you create. And then the discovery of our first collection, the Human Body, and the fact that all three boys found it interesting, each in their own way. They don't necessarily play with it together. Ma Cabane À Rêves, rather side by side, but I thought it was nice to watch them do it.

Is there a value of Ma Cabane À Rêves which one particularly resonates with you (free play, creativity, imagination, poetry, transmission…)?

Free play and imagination – both nursery and the early school years allow a great deal of free play here. I love the freedom that Ma Cabane À Rêves I give it to the children – my three little rascals have different personalities, but they each find a way to interact with the collections. There are no rules (except for not sliding the magnets under the fridge), and they go about their own business.

What were your thoughts when you first saw your products? Ma Cabane À Rêves ?

"Wow!" we exclaimed when we unwrapped the human body. The quality of the magnets is amazing and they withstand impatient little hands (and they're easy to clean when those little hands get dirty). I really love the vibrant yet soft colors and the illustrations. A special mention goes to the poster that comes with the set, which extended the playtime in a completely different way. I thought that if I could find them more easily here, these would be exactly the kind of gifts we'd love to give for our friends' (many) birthdays.

We discovered other collections afterwards, and I am super excited by the colours and designs – the older kids are at an age where the games that interest them are not aesthetically the ones that excite me the most. Ma Cabane À Rêves It's all good: the children enjoy the play possibilities and I don't complain if the magnets aren't put away at the end of each day 😉

What games or collections do your children enjoy the most?

Lulu and Marcel prefer the human body, and Alfred prefers "woof woof doggies." I have the little hearts and frames on the fridge, and I recently realized that the hearts were gradually disappearing, before finding them again in one of Marcel's drawers on his little slate…

Do you like to repurpose magnets and invent your own stories/scenes?

The first toy we received was the human body – the older kids carefully built it together first. Since then, Marcel regularly enjoys mixing up the different body parts or adding them to the dogs, much to Lucien's dismay, who rushes to put everything back in place whenever he gets the chance (two rooms, two different moods). There's also a great passion for any part of the human body that can be associated with "pee," "poop," or "fart" (I never said we only had intelligent toys 😉).

In what atmosphere or time of day do you most often use our creations (free play, quiet time, travel, creative activity, etc.)?

We have magnets in different places around the house – Alfred has a lot of fun with the ones on the fridge while I'm preparing meals. We have several metal pieces of furniture, and I regularly find them on them, moving around as they play (and I love the photo frames and little hearts for hanging my daily reminders).

If you had to choose 3 words to describe Ma Cabane À RêvesWhich ones would they be?

Quality, creativity, color

What emotion would you like your children to remember while playing with our creations?

The freedom to create, the fact that nothing is fixed and that stories reinvent themselves according to moods.
