Carole and Leonard

Hearing the words “My Dream Cabin”, I imagine a cozy little cocoon, surrounded by clouds in which we can snuggle up, a reassuring and soothing place.

A little note to introduce the family

We are Leonard, 2 and a half years old, Carole and Donald, 35 years old! We live in the Paris region.

After almost 3 years at home without leaving each other, we returned to school, in a small section, and to work at the beginning of September 2023.

What is your biggest dream ?

Living on love and fresh water all around the globe, together, with our skateboards and our van!

Set out to discover the world as a family, explore, meet, grow and be amazed.

Where do you like to spend your family vacations?

We fell in love with the Basque Country a few years ago, and Leonardo did too, he talks to us about Biarritz every day! We feel at home and alive there!

Nature, the ocean, surfing and slow life, everything we love.

Children's toys are a bit like they have magical powers to teleport all over the house!

At Ma Cabane à Rêves, we opted for a “Mix and Match” between the world of games and that of decoration. Toys that are both fun to look at and play with.

Is this a factor you consider when choosing toys for your child?

Oh yes ! I am one of those mothers for whom the quality, interest and design of the toy are very important. I like creating a cute and soft little world for my son, and being able to integrate pretty toys into the decoration of his room, and indeed in the rest of the house since toys have this famous magical power!

So I'm quite difficult about this, my loved ones know it, and for example for gifts they always ask me first!

Magnets that go in the bath, is that a plus for you?

It's really awesome !

Here the bath is a real, long time of play, being able to take our magnets there and create stories in the water is super cool.

Magnets or stickers?

This summer, during our road trip in a van, Léonard discovered a real passion for stickers... But what a frustration once they are stuck, not being able to reuse them or tearing them while trying. They often end up in the trash and that's not great.

So without hesitation, magnets, we use them endlessly, and we mix themes to multiply the stories!

What seems more fun and creatively stimulating to you: rigid magnets made of wood or cardboard, or soft, stackable magnets from Ma Cabane à Rêves?

For lots of reasons, soft magnets! Being able to superimpose them is very interesting from a creative point of view, it allows you to combine objects, ideas and create pretty paintings. They are strong, foldable, light, easy to clean, you can put them in water, and also take up less space for storage!

Do you find the idea of encouraging your child to play by combining magnets with pencils on the slate interesting?

This is great because it allows the child to create more and more and to be able to invent many stories!

Starting with a magnet, there are so many possibilities.

Our Numbers and Symbols magnets will proudly join your Montessori activity space at home :) Would you agree to share with us some activity ideas to introduce your child to mathematics using our magnetic numbers?

My pleasure ! Leonard is still little but is starting to be interested in numbers. So I thought of a few activities for him, including:

- recognize numbers by pairing identical numbers - trace the numbers using pencils and a model (and parallel the rough Montessori numbers);

- count by placing the correct number of magnets next to each number;

- surround the same numbers with a certain color.

What new magnet theme would you like to see added to our collection?

Why not a sports theme, with sweet illustrations like you know how to do so well at “Ma Cabane à Rêves”, or magnets on the seasons to create pretty paintings to integrate into a seasonal table for example.

What do you like about Ma Cabane à Rêves and why?

I like the idea of offering an activity that can be adapted endlessly. The themes are varied and adapt to the tastes and sensibilities of each child. Manipulating magnets is a very good exercise for little hands, and allows you to give free rein to your creativity, express yourself, and develop your language.

Slate is a great play medium, which allows you to learn while having fun!
